Mechanical End Stop

The Mechanical End Stop Is a Robust Optional Extra for SensoWheels

It allows you to mechanically limit the number of steering wheel turns to protect, among other things, the clock spring in the steering wheel. Due to the special structure and the integrated multi-turn position sensor,
the Mechanical End Stop can implement multiturn end stops.

The clever construction keeps the impact on the steering feel extremely low too.

The Mechanical End Stop is mounted directly on the motor –
without affecting the way you install your SensoWheel in a simulator.

Option: Additional Friction

The additional friction unit is a precision-machined component designed for seamless integration into our mechanical end stop. It enables precise adjustment of the actual friction during steering wheel rotation, thereby enhancing the realism and accuracy of driving simulators.

The main features of the additional friction unit are:

  • Adjustable friction range: Offers precise, manual adjustment of friction from 0 to 1.2 Nm to meet specific simulation requirements
  • Optimal performance at zero speed: Unlike simulated friction models, which are often unable to replicate realistic behavior at rest, this mechanical solution ensures consistent and accurate friction even at zero speed.

The additional friction provides a consistent and reliable solution for driving simulators, guaranteeing higher accuracy and realism compared to purely software-based approaches. Integrated into the mechanical end stop, it ensures smooth operation and predictable performance across all speed ranges. This makes it particularly well-suited for applications that require fine tactile feedback and precise, realistic simulation performance.
