As part of the AWARE2ALL initiative, the European research center Tecnalia has developed an adaptive co-pilot system that provides haptic feedback directly on the accelerator pedal via Sensodrive's SensoPedals Pro. If the driver exceeds the speed limit or gets too close to the vehicle in front, the pedal responds with graduated resistance and vibrations – intuitively, precisely and without visual distraction. The study impressively demonstrates that haptic signals can significantly improve the next generation of driver assistance systems.
